Your week is the plan, and Settings makes sense
Your week, then your calendar
- Your week comes first. A wake-up time, or no alarm, for each day. Your calendar is optional and can only ever wake you earlier, never later.
- New switch: "On my days off too". Turn it off and days with no alarm stay quiet whatever's in your calendar. Flights and trains still wake you.
Settings, rebuilt
- Eight groups, each showing your current choice: Your alarm, Your week, Calendar, Getting ready and travel, Sleep, Notifications, Privacy and look, and Account, Pro, About.
- Your snooze length is now yours to choose, and your watch snoozes for the same time.
- Vibrate only, and sound if you don't stir, sit together under Your alarm. Words your calendar should ignore can now be added and removed.
- The You tab is now what First Thing knows about you, with a Change link for each setting.
Setting up
- Your week first, then sleep, then your calendar if you want it. A new "How you wake" step covers ring or vibrate only, snooze, your watch, and a test alarm.
- Weekends get a real time picker, and "Don't ring if I'm already up" is asked rather than switched on for you.
Smaller things
- On a morning with nothing in your calendar, your watch says "Your alarm" and why, not "Free morning".
- Steadiness on You no longer squeezes its explanation into a narrow column.
- Pro prices: £29.99 a year (£19.99 for your first year if you're eligible), £3.99 a month, or £79.99 once.

Mornings that look back, not ahead
Mornings
- Until midday the app opens on this morning. Once you're up it shows last night: when your alarm rang, when you got up, and your sleep from Health Connect. Tomorrow's alarm is one tap away instead of the first thing you see.
- +5 min on your watch. Running late? Tap +5 min under the leave-by countdown, and the countdown on your watch face and your phone both move.
Fixed
- A flat watch could make your phone ring 2 minutes late. Your phone waits a moment so your watch can buzz first; if the watch had died overnight it still waited. Now it checks at your alarm time and rings on time if your watch isn't there.
- The next-alarm notification stays until your alarm rings, instead of disappearing at the planned time.
- The ringing screen no longer says "First up: First Thing" on a morning with nothing in your calendar. It says why it rang.
Smaller things
- Tonight's bedtime tile says how much sleep it gives you, and only mentions the wind-down nudge if you've turned it on.
- Steadiness shows a word (Steady, Very steady) instead of a bare number, and the "default" tags are gone from Your morning.
- Settings has What's new (this page) and Check for updates.

Your watch catches up with your phone
- Change a morning from your wrist. Switch it off, turn it back on, go back to the planned time, keep a time, or set a new alarm with the crown.
- The watch now says which morning it means ("Wednesday morning"), and shows when a time was set by you or moved by your calendar ("Moved from 7:30").
- The tile uses the same words and buttons, and shows your bedtime and how much sleep you'll get.
- Labels fit properly on smaller watches.

Far fewer notifications, and vibrate-only alarms
Quieter
- One quiet notification instead of many. It shows your next alarm and bedtime, and updates itself when your calendar moves things, instead of sending a new notification each time.
- In the morning it turns into your leave-by countdown.
- Only things that need you make a sound: your alarm can't ring, a time you set clashes with your calendar, or you're running late for a train.
- The wind-down reminder and morning check-in are now off unless you switch them on (Settings → Notifications).
New
- Vibrate only (Settings → Your alarm). It buzzes first and adds sound if you don't wake up. You choose how long, or switch the sound off completely.
- A better way to set times: a big readout with − and +, quick picks, and a line saying what your choice means. Tap the number to type an exact time.
Fixed
- The morning check-in no longer asks about mornings where you set the alarm yourself.

An alarm you can always stop
- First Thing only sets an alarm it knows you can stop. If notifications, alarms or full-screen alerts are switched off, it won't set one. Tonight shows what to turn on instead.
- Volume buttons snooze a ringing alarm, like most alarm clocks.
- Opening First Thing while it rings takes you straight to Stop and Snooze.
Thank you to the tester who reported an alarm they couldn't stop. That report changed how First Thing sets alarms for everyone.

"No alarm" in one tap, and clearer mornings
- "No alarm" on the evening notification switches the morning off in one tap, with "Turn back on" right there.
- Clearer wording: pages say which morning they're about ("Tonight · Tuesday morning") instead of a vague "tomorrow". After midnight it says "This morning".

A careful review of alarms, planning and the watch
Alarm time
- A flight or shift between midnight and 3am now gets its own alarm.
- On a sleep-in day, an afternoon flight that needs a morning start now wakes you for it.
- Course codes like "CS101" aren't mistaken for flights, and "training" isn't a train.
- All-day events land on the right day everywhere.
Ringing and watch
- Snoozing on your phone tells your watch.
- After a restart the alarm rings once, not twice. A watch snooze survives a restart.
- Setting a morning again after dismissing it re-arms the watch.
New
- Start again (Settings): clears this phone and runs set-up from the beginning. Pro and your backup stay.

Your times stay yours
- An alarm you set yourself is never changed. If your calendar needs you up earlier, First Thing asks first.
- No calendar? Set-up now has "Skip, I'll set my times".
- Tomorrow's notification goes away once you've answered it.
- No more "Your alarm won't ring" warnings for mornings you've already dismissed or skipped.
Phone 0.4.610 October 2026
Your watch goes first
- With a watch, it buzzes first. Your phone only rings if you haven't dismissed on the watch within 2 minutes (Settings → Your alarm).
- Tablets don't ring unless you switch on "Ring on this device".
- An unanswered alarm rings for about 25 minutes, then stops and tells you.

Your usual week
- A wake-up time for each day (You → How your days work): gym Wednesdays at 6:15, a lie-in on Fridays, weekends free.
- Each day shows the bedtime it means. "Same for every weekday" sets a group in one go.
- Your calendar can still make any day earlier, never later.
- Turning shift work on and off keeps your usual week.
- Watch: smart wake no longer risks a crash while the watch is charging.

The first day of feedback
- See how your alarm is worked out (You → Your mornings): your first thing, minus getting there and getting ready, equals your alarm. Every setting says what it changes.
- Set any time exactly, including 0. Presets are just suggestions.
- Tap your bedtime on Tonight to change it for one night. Your alarm stays put.
- Up before your alarm? First Thing notices and starts your morning from then.
- Live travel (Pro) ignores impossible journey times and asks before a big move.
- Founding testers get Pro free for the whole test, and for life if they stay 14 days.
- Google sign-in fixed. All notifications use the new card design.

The closed test begins
- First Thing opens to testers on Google Play, phone and Wear OS.
